6 STEPS TO PLANNING YOUR EXHIBITION PRESENCE
Don't leave it all until the last minute! A bit of foresight and organisation will go a long way and means you will greet your show visitors knowing that you're going to get the best results.
1. SET GOALS
It may sound odd, but the best place to begin is with the end in mind. Take time to carefully consider exactly what you would like to accomplish at the show, and steer your presence in the direction with the best prospects for success!
Keep it simple and succeed. Set one or two key goals and get them! For example, are you looking to:
Develop new leads
Grow your market share and presence
Develop brand awareness
Let people know about your products and services
Launch a new product or service
2. SET A BUDGET
Booking your floor space at the show is a good beginning - but you'll need to follow through! Avoid overspending or wasting funds on unnecessary supplies by setting a budget.
Here's some things you'll need to account for:
The price of your space
Stand display i.e. product, posters, tables, electronics, wifi
Giveaways or competitions you will be running at the show
Pre-show promotion and advertising
Transporting goods to and from the show
Buildup and breakdown of your exhibit
Staffing (including transportation, accommodation, meals, and training)
3. CHOOSE AND TRAIN YOUR STAFF
Choose your staff for the show carefully. The most experienced people in your team may not necessarily be the best choice - you need people who can talk to visitors and sell your product or service efficiently, without being pushy or invasive.
It's important that your staff know your goals and expectations for the show so that you're all working towards a common goal.
4. ORGANISE GIVEAWAYS AND INCENTIVES
People love to walk away from a stand feeling like they've gained something - organising a giveaway or competition is the perfect way to help them remember your brand!
Visitors to a show have come for a reason - they're hoping to find something they can't get by simply going online or visiting stores. Create a show-only promotion that will have people flocking to see you.

People need to know you're going to be there! Make an effort to promote your presence, and what you're offering that can only be found at your stand at the show.
